Company Profile:
Ben Halim company was established in 1948 under the name Ben Halim & bros. Working in the field of general trading of all sorts. Although the start was some How modest , however . the basis and foundations for this structure were solid and firm , which opened the way and enabled us to advance in the field of trade from its widest doors until arriving at this stage which we always admire and proud of , in spite of the fact that this company is private company and considered to be a family company with limited liability , and its current general manager is Mr. Mansour Alamin Ahmed Ben Halim and his brothers and their children each in his field of specialty.

Tripoli branch is managed by Engineer Nabil Fateh Allah Ben Halim while the eastern area branch is managed by Amin Mansour Ben Hailm.


The Libyan Market Abstract:
The traditional trade in the past is now highly developed and advanced specially in the importing field and at present there are short comings and problems which the market encounters and the causes are that there are individuals import goods and products over which they have no idea and is not of their field nor of their specialty where finally they face with the reality of the market of which they don't know nothing leading them to sell their imported goods below the purchasing price to avoid its being spoiled especially food stuffs and all of these cause panic in the market , be it known that the Libyan market is widely open for all Arabic and European products.

With our deep-rooted experience in this field we always take in consideration these unexpected circumstances.


Consumer Demand:
There is no doubt that the Libyan consumer has grown up and understood the quality and products dates as well as the expiration date of such products. The hygienic procedure in the Great Jamahiriya as well are very strict with regard to specifications, measurements and all of this is for the benefit of the Libyan consumers who prefer the cheapest products , which opened the door widely for some reckless individuals to import counterfeit products especially from eastern Asia countries and Turkey which lead to the consumers pockets being exhausted who can not discriminate between the original product and the counterfeit and we could simply say that the consumer won't be able to discriminate between such products because of the skillfulness of the counterfeit. Despite of all the above , however we are quite confident that there is a decision issued by the economy secretariat regulates these things and to assign each product or trade mark an agent or distributor in Libya and would not allow the products to slip from customers boarder points unless their sources are known.

The Market Policy:
There is no doubt that the vast area of Libyan territory which is extending for more than 2000 km on the coast of the Mediterranean sea , this vastness requires us to open main branches in all populated areas to satisfy the consumer of every aspect in all of these areas , it's also requires us to open main warehouses in the nearest customer point as well as in the branches in the eastern area such as Tobrak , Darna , Bieda , Tripoli west and we are doing our best to extend our business to the south of the country. We also prolong for selling to wholesale traders and the big supermarkets which consume large quantities of products. As for transportation means are available for us and for our stores at our cost and the advertisement means also and which is no doubt plays a vital role in advancing the marketing processes of the products for more than 40%. All companies with which we are dealing covers these costs …. Some companies authorized us to print advertisement stickers in Libya which we consider as costs less than its cost in their respected countries from both price and quality view points. This term is applied to material gifts such as withdrawing on cars or on electric appliances which have become a necessity in every household.

Scientific Development:
No doubt that production nowadays is at its highest level in the world as a result of the use of modern technologies , as a result more and more high quality products have invaded the local markets , with more surplus to export to overseas markets. This enforced the producing companies to create international marketing headquarters as well as establishing special departments for marketing development and new experts and professionals have taken charge to manage these things in a well and modern way.

Competency:
From the above , its clear that the Libyan market has become fully satisfied from all types of products due to the great quantities pouring to the market in daily basis which created a very serious competency.
We could frankly say that we haven't seen as such in any other country and this conformed by statements and testimonies of visitors who visit us to follow up their products in the Libya market. In our company , we have a very limited and precise system which means one and same prices every where inside the Great Jamahiriya from Eastern boarders to western ones. This gave us the trust of our customers and that our prices are limited.
We shall not give any-one a chance to transfer it from area to another area.

All companies we are dealing with undertook not to give any chance for spoilers to acquire their product in order to bring it into the Libyan market, to upset our and their names and thus we lose our credibility. This is in our view is the most danger for the producer inside the Libyan market in which we have a great experience and know well how it reacts to such acts. We are sure that the producer always available with us and which doesn't change its specifications or actual prices and on which the consumer accustomed to and got its satisfaction will always be out of competency.

  1. As a result of our long experience in food stuffs and clearing materials we feel that we have the confidence in the Libyan market. In recent years we created a trade mark for ourselves from each producer and we are sure that marketing the products in large quantities will help us bear the advertisement expenses as well as printing and creating the producer requirements in full and our future goals calls for proceeding in this road more and more.

When the market is not having enough of the products , this shall give a chance to competitors to slip to the market such case which we greatly recognize thus our product orders do not stop and flow smoothly according to producers distribution , summertime or winter , taking in consideration vacations , holidays and hygienic procedures when shipping products.

  3. We insist that goals arrive to the hands of consumers at a special price before importing it from outside and must be out of competency which would assist us in the market. All companies and products specification with which we deal are always good in name and well known in its prices as well in order to take the suitable share in the market according to population structure.

  4. Our policy is less prices and less profit margin which we consider it as very big when our sales are high.

  5. We are specialized in all food stuffs canned and loose as well as all cleaning products.
